Costeaux French Bakery
Thank you for joining us!
The Glendeven String Quartet performed selected movements from quartets by Claude Debussy, Gabriel Faure and Maurice Ravel in the relaxed atmosphere of the café setting. Some Gallic poetry, read in French and English, was heard amidst the sound of tinkling wine glasses as patrons enjoyed French inspired delectables and Toad Hollow Franch Sparkling Wines. http://www.toadhollow.com/ And RRCM’s 20th Anniversary was celebrated with a specially created Costeaux birthday cake. http://www.costeaux.com/
The Glendeven String Quartet is RRCM’s Quartet-in-Residence. Violinists Gary McLaughlin and Lisa Doyle, violist David Hill, and cellist Gwyneth Davis make up the quartet, which has been performing in the North Bay area for the past eleven years. The quartet talked about the three quintessential French composers that they performed and briefly discussed why French music sounds the way it does.
